Completing the restoration of your classic Mike Hailwood Replica Ducati? Looking for the original specification fixings to finish things off nicely? THESE are the ones you've been searching for! Reproduced in stainless steel to the original specifications of Ducati; who actually knew about the two methods of machining the central slot of the two sized screws!? That's one for the observant afficionado for sure.

Background
Ducati were really caught with their pants down by the demand for the MHR announced during 1979.  Staff were not particularly well motivated working for a nationalised company, completely in the pocket of fierce unions in a communist run city. The fairing was the last thing to go on after the other 99% of the bike had been assembled and tested. Two types of screw to fit (and each type could fit in the 'wrong' location) by someone not particularly interested in their work maybe? What could possibly go wrong!

DETAIL
Starting at the top:
The 2 by each side of the aluminium support bar, not really possible to cock up here as the 22mm headed screw looks far too big and barely fits without overlapping onto the screen. The 2 by the side of the headlamp. SHOULD be 15mm head but occasionally the 22mm ones got fitted. Fits, but looks odd. The tech literature department (manuals etc) compounded the problem by producing pages in parts books that showed the 22mm here but the Microfiche for the trade showed the 15mm screws here. . . . .
Down below, the 22mm heads fit perfectly, the area being so flat and slabby. But it was not unknown for 15mm screws to be fitted here straight from the factory.
The later 2 piece fairing also suffered the same problem although mercifully the fairing join area was always fitted with the 15mm screw as the 22mm screw is impossible to fit here.
